The two line graphs show the trends in three popular boys’ and girls’ names in the UK from 1925 to 2000.

For boys, Daniel was the most popular name during the period. It started at 4 per thousand in 1925 and steadily rose to a peak of 12 per thousand in 1975, then slightly decreased. By 2000, both Daniel and Oliver had nearly the same popularity at around 10 per thousand.

Oliver increased to over 5 per thousand by 1950, but then dropped sharply to 0 by 1975. After that, it rose rapidly and overtook Alexander in 1980, reaching its highest point at 11 per thousand by 2000. Alexander remained unpopular until 1975, staying around 1 per thousand, but then it gradually increased and reached nearly 9 per thousand at the end.

Turning to girls' names, Sophia and Isabella were not used until 1975. After that, both names grew quickly and reached about 10 per thousand in 2000. In contrast, Emily had already been in use since 1925, though at a low level. From 1950 onwards, it started to rise, and from 1975 to 2000, it increased sharply, ending at 11 per thousand.

Overall, most of the names showed a sharp increase in popularity after 1975, especially for girls, while boys’ names like Oliver and Alexander gained popularity later in the period.

Reading books is a good way to get knowledge. But nowadays, many people, especially children, read less than before. It is important to help young people read more because they are the future. In this essay, I will talk about how parents and schools can help children love reading.   
     First, parents can help their children by reading with them at home. For example, reading bedtime stories makes children excited and helps them imagine the story in their minds. When reading becomes fun, children want to read more. 
     Second, schools and libraries can also support reading. They can organize book fairs, reading games, or story-telling contests. For example, a library can have a reading day where parents and children read together. These events make reading more interesting. Also, schools can give prizes to students who read many books to make them feel happy and proud.
    In conclusion, reading is very important for children to learn and grow. Parents and schools should work together to help children enjoy reading. If we do this, more children will love books and become smart and confident in the future.
